I Can't Find My Phone
A single serving site. Lost your phone? No one around to call it for you? Problem solved.
I'm not a writer. I don't consider myself a blogger. I'm a designer and it's my job to communicate. Writing here a little bit at a time improves my ability to do that.
Chris Shiflett calls for a blog revival in a post he titles "Ideas of March". He'd like people to write about why we like blogs. When I look through the archives of my blog, it seems more like a march of ideas. Unpublished shitty first drafts, half-finished posts, ideas that became obsolete the day after I wrote them, all things I find when I look at what I've written, but never published.
I like blogging because it forces me to think. It forces me to question my ideas and my point of view. I do extra research on a subject because I'm paranoid and afraid of being called out on something I haven't fact-checked. It encourages me to get out of my comfort zone and learn about something new.
I have a lot of blog posts that I've never published, posts that I just don't think that anyone cares to read and posts that I am just not confident enough in my opinion. I still don't plan on publishing them, so I don't know if this is going to be a "revolution" for this blog, but at least I'm writing and posting this.
